When you delete your Oasis account:
1. Your account and posts are disabled immediately — they are no longer visible to others and you cannot create new content.
2. Your account is scheduled for permanent deletion after a retention period (30 days).
3. You can cancel account deletion anytime before the scheduled permanent deletion date.
Permanent deletion cannot be undone once the retention period ends.
Before you delete
Please read the following before continuing:
- Immediate effect: As soon as you confirm deletion, your account and posts are disabled. You will see a banner in the app showing when permanent deletion is scheduled.
- Retention period: Your data is permanently deleted on the date shown in the app (typically within 30 days of confirmation). Until that date, you may cancel and restore your account.
- Individually deleted posts: Posts you deleted on their own before starting account deletion will not be restored if you cancel account deletion later.
- Verification required: For your security, we send a 6-digit verification code to the email address on your account. You must enter this code to confirm deletion.
Delete your account in the app
You must be signed in to delete your account from the app.
1. Open "Oasis" and sign in to your account.
2. Tap "Profile" in the bottom navigation bar.
3. Tap the "Settings" icon (gear) in the top-right corner.
4. Under "Account management", tap "Delete account".
5. Read the confirmation dialog titled "Delete your account?" It explains that your account and posts will be disabled immediately and permanently deleted within the retention period (30 days). Tap "Continue" to proceed, or "Cancel" to go back.
6. Check your email for a "6-digit verification code" sent to the address registered on your account.
7. On the "Confirm account deletion" screen, enter the 6-digit code.
8. Tap "Confirm deletion".
If you did not receive the code, wait for the countdown to finish, then tap "Resend".
After confirmation, you will see a message that your account has been scheduled for deletion. Settings will show "Account scheduled for deletion" with the permanent deletion date.
What gets deleted
When your account is permanently deleted, we remove or anonymize data associated with your account, including:
- Account and profile information — email address, name, optional profile details (such as date of birth and gender), and user ID
- Posts — captions, tags, categories, photos, and videos you uploaded
- Plans and bookmarks — plans, sections, and saved content you created
- Channels — channels you created and their content
- Location data — places and coordinates attached to your posts
- Session and device data — authentication tokens and hashed device fingerprint tied to your account
Media files (photos and videos) stored on our content delivery network are removed as part of this process.
Some information may be retained for a limited time where required by law (for example, for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance). Backups may take additional time to fully purge.
Cancel account deletion
If you change your mind before the scheduled permanent deletion date:
1. Open "Oasis" and sign in.
2. Go to "Profile → Settings", or tap "Cancel account deletion" in the banner on the Home screen.
3. Tap "Cancel account deletion" (or "Restore account" in the confirmation dialog).
4. Confirm when prompted with "Cancel account deletion?"
Your account and content that were hidden because of account deletion will be restored and active again.
Note: Posts you deleted individually before account deletion will not come back.
After permanent deletion
Once your account is permanently deleted:
- You cannot sign in with that account.
- Your profile, posts, plans, bookmarks, channels, and uploaded media are removed from Oasis.
- Creating a new account with the same email address may be possible depending on our systems, but your previous data will not be recovered.
